Connecting with Those We Serve: Culturally Competent Care in Mountain Maryland

Appalachia is a truly unique place and as demographics change in communities, cultural appreciation and respect to support health and social services is increasingly important. The cultural competency training will help build awareness, knowledge, and skills through direct instruction and facilitated group discussions. The course seeks to enrich understanding of one’s own culture, enhance awareness and acknowledgment of cultural differences, and increase knowledge and skills for navigating the dynamics of difference.
