COUNSELOR OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeking full & part-time substance abuse counselor for our expanding addiction treatment facility located in Baltimore, Maryland. This is a great opportunity for an experienced and creative counselor who wants to be involved in the development of the program as we grow. Our integrative approach combines meditation and mindfulness instruction and practice with traditional group and individual therapy to provide a holistic and personalized program of treatment and recovery.

MHI is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Supervisor for our Substance Use Disorder (SUD) program. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, this role is pivotal in providing advanced clinical support, managing our team of clinicians, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.

The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) at Mazwi Holistic Institute (MHI) provides peer recovery support services in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of providers that provide comprehensive and integrated treatment to individuals with substance use disorders. The CPRS serves as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator to recovering individuals to help prevent disengagement from treatment, relapse and promote long-term recovery.

The Peer Support Specialist interacts with patients and staff to promote a therapeutic environment for the patients. The position helps to promote patient advocacy by meeting with the patients individually and in groups and assisting in the resolution of patient grievances.

Join our team at PerSoN and play a pivotal role in transforming the landscape of mental health and wellness services. As a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, you will leverage the PSN platform to provide vital support and recovery services to youth and other individuals in need of mental wellness guidance.

Serve as role model to persons with a mental health and/or substance use disorder in order to facilitate and promote recovery. Leads is an ASAM 3.1 program offering housing to members on the path of recovery. Members in our program are provided with group/individual counseling, assistance with job search and many more social services

This is a full-time managerial position responsible for oversight of the Peer-to-Peer programs and supervision of the Certified Peer Recovery Specialists funded by the Federal SUD and General SUD grants awarded to the Prince George’s County Health Department.

Regular Schedule: 34 hours per week.

As a Patient Navigator, you will work as a collaborative team member on an NIH-funded research study of opioid use disorder treatment linkage strategies using patient navigation and buprenorphine medication. The Patient Navigator will work with patients from the Baltimore City community to resolve barriers to initiating and engaging in opioid use disorder treatment and recommended follow-up medical care.

This is a temporary position for this specific project. We are looking to hire as soon as possible and the study will be ongoing through Spring 2025.

The Peer Recovery Coach provides non-clinical services to support clients establishing recovery from alcohol and/or drug use. The Peer Recovery Coach works in conjunction with the clinical team to provide peer support and inspiration to encourage clients throughout their recovery journey in a manner that is respectful, therapeutic, and free from abuse, neglect, and exploitation

Training Program Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Training Coordinator with all tasks in developing and maintaining a quality training program. The Training Program Assistant will provide direct support to the program and the Training Coordinator including direct 1:1 support to students, staff and administrative duties.

Overview

The Peer Recovery Specialist provides a relationship to vulnerable persons that can help keep an unmotivated or poorly organized client connected to services and maintain housing placements. The approach in peer recovery has key differences to the approach taken by a treatment provider. The Peer Recovery Specialist has responsibility for integrating the lived experience into clients’ treatment goals and services by practicing a strengths-based and harm reduction approach to recovery and wellness.
