COUNSELOR OPPORTUNITY
We are currently seeking full & part-time substance abuse counselor for our expanding addiction treatment facility located in Baltimore, Maryland. This is a great opportunity for an experienced and creative counselor who wants to be involved in the development of the program as we grow. Our integrative approach combines meditation and mindfulness instruction and practice with traditional group and individual therapy to provide a holistic and personalized program of treatment and recovery.
The counselor is responsible for counseling activities as directed by the programs Clinical Director in consultation with the Meditation Teacher. The incumbent provides group and individual therapy and collaborates with the Treatment Team in the formulation of the Master Treatment Plan and Discharge Plan. The counselor documents a client interactions using ICANotes according to the programs timetable.
Monday - Friday
Individual Session.
Group facilitation.
EHR Documentation ( Tx plans, D/C summary, Interpretive summary, BioPsychSocial, & Progress notes).
SUMMARY OF WORK RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrate ability to effectively engage clients with substance abuse issues.
Responsible for intakes and assessments, problem identification, treatment planning, recording progress notes, and developing discharge plans, review of continuing care plans.
Completion of progress notes with signatures and proper time documentation.
Must be able to:
- Provide effective substance abuse treatment.
- Maintains case documentation and tracking.
- Collaborates with primary care providers and referring agencies.
- Provides outreach, linkage and/or reports to health, social, legal and funding departments and agencies as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
CAC-AD or CSC-AD Status preferred.
Alcohol and Drug Counselor Trainee may also apply.
Education -
Bachelor's Degree preferred
AA Degree may apply
EXPERIENCE:
2 years of experience as a Certified Alcohol and Drug counselor preferred.
