Mentoring & Education for the Peer Recovery Specialist
Overview
This training will cover the knowledge areas and skills required for Peer Recovery Specialist candidates to demonstrate the importance of self-care, how to establish and maintain a peer relationship, the skills needed to self-advocate, and how to educate through shared experiences. The training also covers other Mentoring/Education Domain-related factors, such as, effective communication skills, conflict resolution skills, principles of empowerment, and linking individuals to community resources and professional services. A post-test will be given.
