About the event
project: liberation LGBT Ethics and Peer Recovery Training
This 8-hour training provides a foundation for understanding the interconnected network of being a person from the LGBTQUIA community and in-recovery. This is a workshop for peers and practitioners that work directly with the LGBTQUIA community. We ask that people come prepared and with an open mind. This training is a safe and brave space for all people. Specifically, the topic of this course is: Ethics.
Throughout the training, individuals will learn about:
- The ethics of using pronouns and chosen names
- Risk factors for LGBTQUIA peers in recovery
- Increasing cultural competency
- Healing-centered engagement and trauma-informed care
- Confidentiality, boundaries, and mandated reporting
- & more!
