project: liberation Peer and Ethics Refresher Training

project: liberation is excited to offer an opportunity to deepen and grow your skills and practice in ethics and peer practice. During this 16-hour course, participants will have an opportunity to deepen their skills, knowledge, and competencies in being a peer who upholds the ethical commitments of the field. This is a hybrid course with both synchronous and asynchronous portions. Throughout the course, peers will learn:

  • Developing and deepening cross cultural competencies and an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, multicultural framework
  • Develop and deepen understandings of confidentiality
  • Recognizing risk indicators
  • Offering self-assessment tools for wellness, safety, and other concerns (such as TBIs)
  • The ethics of the Wellness Recovery Action Plan for peers
  • Understanding the requirements of mandated reporting and peer service
  • The ethics of completing the monthly DLA-20s
  • How to appropriately maintain peer documentation
  • Limits of the peer role within the integrative behavioral health systems
  • Create accountability for personal and professional boundaries
  • Review Case Study documents and materials about responding to crisis and emergency situations

FOR: Anyone interested in deepening their knowledge of ethics in the peer recovery community.

Note: This course is offered for peers, supervisors/leaders, as a full course, and as segments of the course (in smaller sections and modules. This is the same content that is used for the Ethics Refresher for Peers and Supervisors.
