Overview
Course Description:
TheeSeeds, LLC has developed a standardized and localized Direct Support Specialist (DSP) Training Curriculum. Students will learn the role of DSP, Developmental Disabilities, Human Rights, Abuse and Neglect Prevention, Recognition and Intervention, Human Interaction and Communication, Service Plan Development and Implementation, First Aid and CPR, and Basic Health and Safety.
Course Objectives:
During or by the end of this course, the student will be able to:
- Discuss the responsibilities of a Direct Support Specialist.
- Identify the Developmental Disabilities
- Determine ways to promote human rights in healthcare.
- Identify abuse and neglect prevention, recognition and intervention
- Practice human interaction and communication
- Discuss service plan development and implementation
- Demonstrate First Aid and CPR
- Enumerate Basic Health and Safety
