Inclusive Listening

Overview

This training teaches a skill that deepens the way trainees listen. It's based in non-judgment, and sharpens a person's ability to notice how their opinions, advice, and judgments show up and cause things to escalate. This way of listening honors diversity, and helps people work on understanding, even when conversations are difficult. The listener focuses on hearing feelings, values, and topics expressed, which helps to de-escalate situations, and helps people feel heard and understood.
