Suspending Sexual Judgment

Overview

In this 2-day course, participants develop greater understanding of their own responses to sexual issues, examine the process of psycho-sexual development and functioning (with an emphasis on how substance use impacts sexual behavior, physiology and HIV risk), and identify challenges to addressing sexuality in the context of recovery work. Participants will also practice approaches to interactions which will facilitate comfort and communication for both counselor and client. This is the third required training in the Sexual Health in Recovery Facilitator Certification course.
