Sexual Health in Recovery (SHIR) Intervention Curriculum Training is a 3-day course designed to equip participants to implement SHIR to reduce substance abuse relapse by addressing sexual shame as a source of sex/drug-linked behavior. Clients with high sex/drug-linked behaviors are at increased risk for becoming infected and/or transmitting HIV, Hepatitis C and other sexually transmitted infections. Participants will receive and practice with an adaptation of “Sexual Health in Drug and Alcohol Treatment” by Douglas Braun-Harvey, MFT, CGP. The adaptation addresses the goal of improving substance use disorder treatment outcomes and building the capacity of clients to effectively manage their sexual behavior. **Please note: The October 15, 16 & 17 training is offered ONLY as part of the larger Sexual Health in Recovery Facilitator Certification course. These dates are not available for registration for those who want to take only this single training. ***
