RPS Supervising Peers for Re-Certification
Overview
This 6 hour training provides a solid foundation for those interested in becoming a Registered Peer Supervisor by the MABPCB. Participants will be engaged in conversation, case studies, and learn techniques for working with peers, such as motivational interviewing. This training prepares RPS candidates in cultural competency, harm reduction skills, advocacy, mentoring/education, and the ethical commitments of becoming a Registered Peer Supervisor. Participants will also receive access to templates and tools to assist RPS’ in tracking the progress for mentees.
This course also offers a track for re-certification. The Re-certification participant manual and course guide are the same. We invite those seeking re-certification to apply their experience to group conversations and discussions. RPS' seeking re-certification are also invited to our monthly check-ins (Zooms) networking conversations. Those seeking re-certification will also have time to connect with others seeking re-certification in break out groups.
If you have taken this course before, you are invited to share from your applied learning nad lived experience as a RPS.
